“In the long run, you make your own luck – good, bad, or indifferent.”
Good morning,
Writing to you on Friday the 13th reminded me that some people think of this day as carrying “bad luck.” I don’t think that’s the case at all. As Loretta Lynn notes above, luck often seems to find people who make the effort to seize an opportunity and work hard. Tennesseans have just such an opportunity because today, early voting begins.
This year there is massive turnover in the Tennessee General Assembly. We’ll also elect a new Governor. Starting today you have the chance to impact the educational future of more than a million children across the state by voting for candidates who support the right of every student to have meaningful access to the educational setting that best meets their needs.
Less than half of Tennessee’s students are proficient in reading and math so now is as good a time as any to ensure that the elected officials that represent them are deeply committed to bold education reform strategies like school choice.
Our kids’ futures can’t be left to chance so take action today!
Here’s a link to an app that shows you a sample voting ballot and your personal polling place.
