Voters Affirm Parent Choice
What a week!
After a long election season, we finally know who is headed to Nashville to represent the Volunteer state’s citizens. At the top of the ticket was Republican Bill Lee who was overwhelmingly elected as our next Governor. Joining him in January are a host of new legislators, both Republicans and Democrats, who support student-centered policies like increased school choice and college/career pathways.
Tuesday’s results confirm recent statewide polling – that Tennessee voters overwhelmingly prefer candidates who support increasing parental choice in education. Research shows that there is no one way to school and students need options that match their interests and talents. Great schools are found in all sectors: zoned, public charter, independent, and home school, and I am confident that this new wave of elected officials will continue Tennessee’s upward trajectory by empowering parents with meaningful access to the best education for their children.
But wait, there’s more!
I am especially excited to announce the launch of our new website: www.schoolchoicetn.com.
Every child deserves a world class education and we hope that this website will be a resource for parents and policymakers alike as they learn more about what options exist in Tennessee and why the fight for school choice is so important. And we’d love to hear from you – use this LINK to share your own story of how school choice has impacted you or your community.
As always, thanks for reading and scroll below to see if your new state legislator is on our list of school champions.
